Manchester City striker Liam Delap has agreed to join Stoke City on a season-long loan and will have a medical at the Championship club on Wednesday afternoon.

Delap follows in the footsteps of his father – Rory – who was a fan favourite at Stoke for seven years when they were in the Premier League.

The 19-year-old made his Premier League and Champions League debuts for Manchester City in February.

Man City complete £11m Gomez deal

Manchester City have completed the £11m signing of left-back Sergio Gomez from Anderlecht.

City agreed a deal with Anderlecht to sign Gomez last week, and the 21-year-old has now completed a medical and signed a four-year deal with the Premier League champions.

It was initially thought Gomez would have been loaned out once the transfer was completed, but City boss Pep Guardiola confirmed he will stay in Manchester this season and compete for the left-back position in the first team.

Man City considering Guerreiro

Manchester City are also keen on Borussia Dortmund left-back Raphael Guerreiro.

The 28-year-old Portugal international is one of several potential first-team options the club are looking into.

Guerreiro has made 189 appearances for Dortmund, scored 34 goals and setup 37, since joining in 2016.

One source has told Sky Sports News Stuttgart’s Borna Sosa is also on City’s list, while another source has indicated he is not currently under consideration.

Pep Guardiola responds to rumours of Neymar being linked to a move to Manchester City from PSG

“Neymar is an incredible player and, with the information I have, an incredibly nice guy. So leave him calm, let him express the huge talent he has in Paris alongside (Lionel) Messi and all the big stars they have.

“But I would say Manchester City every season bought 150 players. It looks like we are interested in all players around the world. You know that is not true. I’m sorry for Neymar, of course!”

Ake ‘to remain at Man City’ amid Chelsea interest

Manchester City defender Nathan Ake is reportedly to remain at the club this summer as Chelsea suffered another blow to their hopes of defensive reinforcements.

The Athletic‘s David Ornstein claims City were never intending to sell the Netherlands international unless his valuation was met.

The player is said to be pleased to be remaining with the Premier League champions with his versatility deemed to be crucial to his status as an important member of Pep Guardiola’s first-team squad.

The Athletic say Chelsea’s interest was never substantiated by an offer that suited City.

The report also claims that Chelsea will turn their attentions to PSG centre-back Presnel Kimpembe with the two clubs in talks.

Sterling bids farewell to Man City as he joins Chelsea

Raheem Sterling has completed his move to Chelsea from Manchester City in a deal worth £47.5m.

Sterling said on Twitter: “Seven seasons. Eleven major trophies. A lifetime of memories.

“To the coaching staff who have played a massive role in my development over the years. To my team-mates who have become more than just those I share a pitch with. To the backroom staff. To the office staff. To the fans who have tirelessly supported the team, and to everyone involved with Manchester City. My respect for you couldn’t be greater.

“What a ride it’s been. I am thankful for the ups and the downs, as it’s the downs that have, at times, tested my strength and resolve and enabled me to stand here in front of you as the best possible version of myself.

“I arrived in Manchester a 20-year-old. Today I leave as a man. Thank you for your endless support. It’s been an honour to wear the shirt of Manchester City.”
